Taos Chapter to Host the 2009 Annual State Meeting!

Meetings are second Wednesdays at 7 pm at San Geronimo Lodge, 1101 Witt Rd. in Taos. All meetings and field trips are free and the public is welcome!

July 8: Christie Brown, a landscaper with 10 years of experience in restorative farming and ornamental gardening will discuss "Vertical Gardening with Edible Landscapes". Visit her website at www.getdowntoearthlandscapes.com.
July 11: Field trip to Santa Barbara Canyon. An easy and popular walk through spruce habitats and wildflower meadows. Meet at San Francisco de Asis North Plaza at 8 AM.
July 28: Field trip to Aqua Piedra meadow and spruce forest. Another easy walk through an especially beautiful mountain valley. Meet at San Francisco de Asis North Plaza at 8 AM.
Sept. 9: Got bugs? Tessa Grasswitz, PhD offers an informative presentation on "Integrated Pest Management", a simple and environmentally sensitive approach to managing pests by examining their interaction with the environment.
Oct. 14: We are pleased to host David Salman, owner of Santa Fe Greenhouses, who shares his vast knowledge on "Rock Gardening with Cacti, Succulents and Other Native Plants".
Nov. 11: Larry Vincent, PhD, UNM professor and Taos News columnist, offers a comprehensive overview on "Forest Ecology and Management", discussing how forest sustainability--that is, its management, preservation and use--requires a basic understanding of forest ecology. His discussion will include his experiences managing forests in Venezuela, Bolivia and Panama.
