  • The Native Plant Society of New Mexico is very concerned about the impacts of off-road vehicles on our native flora, and about the spread of invasive plant species. Read the NPSNM position paper written by Donna Stevens, Gila Chapter, May 2008.
  • 4th Lone Star Regional Native Plant Conference May 28-June 1, 2008 in Nacogdoches, Texas. The conference is hosted by the SFA Pineywoods Native Plant Center. Conference Information

  • A new federal publication on shrubs from the USDA-Rocky Mountain Research Station in Fort Collins, Colorado. Just ask for: Francis, John K. ed. 2004. Wildland shrubs of the United States and it's Territories: thamnic descriptions: volume 1. Gen. Tech. Rep. IITF-GTR-26. San Juan, PR: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, International Institute of Tropical Forestry, and Fort Collins, CO: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station. 830 p. This volume has 311 short monographs on woody plants. Most do not occur in NM, but some do.
